In max you just create a named send and receive object and they are bounded together. So, why did I "switch" from Reaktor to Max? And furthermore, you can connect Reaktor and Max together and let them make what they can do at their best. To make it clear, there is no better or worse software. And it took me half a year to finish my first installation in max, but I´m still learning.
I taught max myself with the help of the build-in (step-by-step) tutorials and documentation and with 3rd-parties companions on the web (there a plenty). And if you limit your application to pure synthesis and great sound, Reaktor is a very good choice and there is no need to learn max. In the field of sound-synthesis Reaktor is very powerful, good-sounding, has got a comprehensible library of synths, filters and modules.
