Without any intentional BB10 love, I can't see how this app is going to get better unless there was some known bug that was causing this, as opposed to general platform differences or just having sloppy coders (not all developers are good embedded developers). I'll change up my old ipod touch 4th gen to see how the smoothness is on it tomorrow for comparison.

I'm sure it would have been way better than android port. It's really too bad that Sirius gave up on a native app. Haven't seen it get really, really bad, where its still showing old songs 10 minutes later, but I am doing a lot of jumping around. Still have the issue where the song/artist data is out of date so when you select a song, you end up hearing a different song with like 17 seconds of buffer already. Button delay can be accounted for up to a point, but lack of smooth scrolling is a big problem for me and why I am on BB10. I'll have to get an Android loaner to compare the smoothness. But trying to jump around just kills the experience. So if I can just leave it on a channel, I'll likely be ok. Pressing on the 4 square thing to get options to appear is a solid 4 seconds (added another favourite, took 6 seconds for options menu to appear).Īll of this scrolling slowdown, no audio drop outs experienced (edit: audio dropout experienced, 2-3 seconds and then I swiped up and audio came back). This was annoying in 2.2 and I thought it would get better in 2.6 (as a bugfix or enhancement), but its actually much worse now. For a brief instant, it looks like the page should be, then goes black, and then I counted 8 (!) seconds for the screen to come back from black screen. I JUST swiped up on my phone from the lock screen. It briefly shows, then goes black, then comes back again. It shouldn't have to go black or take that long! (Also happened in 2.2, but seems like it was more like 3-4 seconds before). When sirius is in an active frame, and then you select it, the screen redraws and goes black for about 6 seconds. So you give it a few seconds and then go to press again and it takes effect right when you go to press it a second time. The delay is really annoying because you don't know if sirius registered the button press or not. That is about 5 seconds longer than it should be. Now there is 2-4 seconds of delay! When I am on a song and press "Channels", I can count to 6 or 7 before it loads. For a long time in sirius apps, I could smoothly scroll through this without any noticeable delay.
I like to scroll through the channels to see what songs are playing (should move my favs to Favorites so there is less to scroll through but been lazy). The new version of sirius 2.6.x is way slower than the previous 2.2 version. I've seen mixed reviews, trying to get a solid idea of it all.Īs for the APK: Sure, I'll maintain this thread going forward with any version bumps that are made public.This afternoon has been the worst app experience on my Z10 in terms of smoothness. i.e audio stuttering, buffering pauses, audio drops, etc. My work here is done!
